Draft Grade — Broncos
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesB+ FutureB-
The Broncos let Muhammad fall into their laps, and walked away with a B.

Call it larceny. Malik Muhammad sat on the board until slot 94, and the Broncos did not need to be asked twice.

If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. They are betting Harris proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

The trade work was a quiet net positive. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 KC Concepcion
In slot 30 they get a true top target. A real need, handled.
Pick62 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at pick No. 62 is money in the bank, a offensive lineman taken below his worth. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick94 Rnd3 Malik Muhammad
You do not let a cornerback like Malik Muhammad reach Round 3, Pick 30 and blink. They did not. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick120 Rnd4 Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg at pick 120 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick130 Rnd4 Skyler Gill-Howard
They paid sticker price for Skyler Gill-Howard in the 130th overall pick, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick168 Rnd5 Brenen Thompson
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Brenen Thompson at the 168th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick246 Rnd7 Alex Harkey
Alex Harkey in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jordan Hall
A clean, defensible pick in No. 251 with a little surplus value in Jordan Hall. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick255 Rnd7 Michael Harris
Michael Harris at No. 255 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
