Draft Grade — Bengals

The Bengals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The Bengals' one glaring miss is cornerback, a need they left exactly as they found it.
However the rest shakes out, Thomas at that price is a win they earned. Every board in the league had Dunker lower, and that gap is the story.
On the needs board they went 1 of 8, with offensive lineman the one that mattered most. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Gennings Dunker
They paid a round early for Gennings Dunker in the Round 1 slot, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick41
Rnd2
R Mason Thomas
R Mason Thomas in pick 41 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A minor need, but a need all the same.
