Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesC FutureA
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B.

For all the names on the card, the loudest question went unanswered. The Cardinals walked out of the weekend still thin at wide receiver, a hole that has a way of deciding seasons. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Klubnik has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
No edge and no loss on Arvell Reese in pick 11; it is a wash and a sensible one. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick34 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
Olaivavega Ioane in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick43 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon at the 43rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jake Slaughter
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jake Slaughter in Round 3, Pick 1. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick75 Rnd3 Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik at slot 75 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick104 Rnd4 Diego Pavia
Diego Pavia slid further than he should have, and the 104th overall pick is lovely value for the quarterback. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick111 Rnd4 Blake Miller
They liked Blake Miller enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 111. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick142 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Kage Casey in pick No. 142 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick182 Rnd6 Bud Clark
Bud Clark at the 182nd pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick217 Rnd7 Gunner Stockton
Nothing to complain about; Gunner Stockton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
