Draft Grade — Titans

FutureD-
A franchise passer in Dart headlines a B weekend for the Titans. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Titans were there to profit. Trey Amos, the No. 48 name on the board, should have been long gone before No. 257. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B.
Everything downstream of Jaxson Dart depends on Jaxson Dart, and the building knows it. The phones were where this weekend was really won.
They are betting Dart proves the room right and everyone else wrong. They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Jaxson Dart
Jaxson Dart at the 14th pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick15
Rnd1
Ashton Jeanty
In the Round 1 slot they get an every-down engine for the run game, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick35
Rnd2
Mike Green
Good price on Mike Green in the 35th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick45
Rnd2
Armand Membou
Armand Membou in the 45th pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick46
Rnd2
Grey Zabel
Grey Zabel in Round 2, Pick 14 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick61
Rnd2
Malaki Starks
They will replay Malaki Starks at slot 61 for years; that is how good the value is. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick65
Rnd3
Jayden Higgins
They let Jayden Higgins come to them and pounced at pick 65. The roster fit checks out.
Pick81
Rnd3
Josaiah Stewart
Josaiah Stewart at the Round 3 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick178
Rnd6
Cam Ward
A quarterback of that caliber at pick No. 178 is the definition of value, full stop. It fills a real need, too.
Pick222
Rnd7
Xavier Restrepo
They barely believed it either: Xavier Restrepo still on the board at No. 222. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick251
Rnd7
Alfred Collins
Somehow Alfred Collins was still sitting there in the Round 7 slot, and they pounced on premier interior defensive lineman value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick257
Rnd7
Trey Amos
Taking Trey Amos in Round 7, Pick 41 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
