FutureB
The Titans fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. The Titans went off the board in a big way for Bryce Foster, 36 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. A dependable weekend that grades out a B+.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
The imported veterans give this class a floor the draft picks could not on their own. Reese at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Jermod McCoy
In the 12th pick they get a sticky cover corner at fair value. Need was not the driver here.
Pick24
Rnd1
Arvell Reese
In pick 24 they get a three-down second-level presence, outstanding value to boot.
Pick38
Rnd2
KC Concepcion
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on KC Concepcion. The roster fit checks out.
Pick66
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields in Round 3, Pick 2 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick86
Rnd3
Monroe Freeling
Value said wait; Monroe Freeling in pick No. 86 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick105
Rnd4
Kaytron Allen
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Kaytron Allen. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick142
Rnd5
Jacob Rodriguez
They liked Jacob Rodriguez enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 142. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick143
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
A reach for Davison Igbinosun in the 143rd overall pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. A want dressed up as a pick, at a spot they had covered.
Pick184
Rnd6
Bryce Foster
Bryce Foster in Round 6, Pick 3 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick238
Rnd7
Brandon Inniss
Brandon Inniss in the 238th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick244
Rnd7
Kayin Lee
Kayin Lee in pick 244 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
