Brawler DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
C
ValueD
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Seahawks landed square in the muddy middle: C. The rest of the league had time to spare on Caden Curry; the Seahawks did not wait, grabbing him 67 spots ahead at slot 64. Fine in stretches, shaky in others: a C.
The Demmings pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, linebacker and other spots. For all the activity, wide receiver went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
If D'Angelo Ponds and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
D'Angelo Ponds
In the 32nd pick they get a potential shutdown corner, reach and all.
Pick64
Rnd2
Caden Curry
Caden Curry at Round 2, Pick 32 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Charles Demmings
A want over a need in No. 96: Charles Demmings adds a cornerback while wide receiver, linebacker and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick188
Rnd6
Keagen Trost
A reasonable price with a little left over, Keagen Trost in pick No. 188. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
