Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Ravens a B-.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The Ravens took Logan Fano at the 172nd pick, roughly 67 spots before his name belonged. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

However the rest shakes out, Jackson Jr. at that price is a win they earned. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Cashius Howell
In No. 14 they get a double-digit-sack hope. A real need, handled.
Pick45 Rnd2 Derrick Moore
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Derrick Moore well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick80 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
Fair-plus on Malachi Fields, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It fills a real need, too.
Pick115 Rnd4 Darrell Jackson Jr.
The board fumbled Darrell Jackson Jr. all the way to pick 115, and they scooped it up. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick152 Rnd5 Beau Stephens
Beau Stephens in the 152nd overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick160 Rnd5 Keagen Trost
Keagen Trost at pick No. 160 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick172 Rnd5 Logan Fano
They reached into another round for Logan Fano, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick173 Rnd5 Seth McGowan
No edge and no loss on Seth McGowan in No. 173; it is a wash and a sensible one. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick249 Rnd7 Andre Fuller
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Andre Fuller in pick 249. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick252 Rnd7 Trebor Pena
Nice patience on Trebor Pena, who had no business lasting to Round 7, Pick 36. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
