Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Jets spent the 209th overall pick on Roman Hemby, a name most had 60 spots down the list. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Allen pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with offensive lineman still on the board. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
