Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesC- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Cardinals a B-.

Nobody else had Drew Allar anywhere near slot 110. The Cardinals did, by 26 spots, and that gap is the whole story. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Haulcy pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In slot 11 they get a long-term starter on the line. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick34 Rnd2 Kayden McDonald
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Kayden McDonald in the 34th pick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick43 Rnd2 Sonny Styles
A clean, defensible pick in No. 43 with a little surplus value in Sonny Styles. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick72 Rnd3 A.J. Haulcy
Value with a capital V on A.J. Haulcy in Round 3, Pick 8, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick75 Rnd3 Omar Cooper Jr.
No edge and no loss on Omar Cooper Jr. in pick 75; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick104 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
Kaytron Allen at the 104th overall pick is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110 Rnd4 Drew Allar
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Drew Allar well ahead of where he belonged. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick141 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for DJ Campbell. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick181 Rnd6 Bryce Foster
A real head-scratcher, Bryce Foster in Round 6, Pick 2 is miles ahead of his ranking. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick217 Rnd7 J. Michael Sturdivant
J. Michael Sturdivant at pick 217 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
