The Bengals did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Priorities are a choice, and the Bengals made a strange one, taking Dani Dennis-Sutton at edge rusher in the Round 2 slot with tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots crying out for the pick instead.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up. If one pick saves this weekend, it is Dennis-Sutton. Cornerback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Peter Woods
In slot 10 they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. More want than need.
Pick41 Rnd2 Dani Dennis-Sutton
A curious use of No. 41. Tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots needed the pick; an edge rusher in Dani Dennis-Sutton did not.
Pick74 Rnd3 Will Lee III
Will Lee III at slot 74 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
