Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-

More right than wrong for the Titans, and a B- to prove it.

The Titans spent real capital to be 38 picks early on Kalil Alexander, and the board is going to hold them to it.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. However the rest shakes out, Johnson at that price is a win they earned. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.

They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick4 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In Round 1, Pick 4 they get a No. 1 receiver. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Colton Hood
Good price on Colton Hood in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick66 Rnd3 Akheem Mesidor
A reasonable price with a little left over, Akheem Mesidor in slot 66. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick101 Rnd4 Emmett Johnson
Emmett Johnson in pick 101 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140 Rnd5 Jalen Stroman
Jalen Stroman in the 140th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick142 Rnd5 Max Iheanachor
No edge and no loss on Max Iheanachor in the 142nd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick182 Rnd6 Kalil Alexander
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Kalil Alexander well ahead of where he belonged. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick238 Rnd7 Evan Tengesdahl
Evan Tengesdahl at the 238th overall pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
