Draft Grade — Cardinals

FutureB-
Burks should have been long gone. The Cardinals pounced, and earned a C. Somebody took the Cardinals to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. On value alone, Burks makes the weekend a net positive.
The Dennis-Sutton pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In pick 23 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick34
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
They paid sticker price for Dillon Thieneman in the 34th pick, and that is fine. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick54
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick65
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Caleb Tiernan at No. 65 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick68
Rnd3
Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton at pick No. 68 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick98
Rnd3
Sam Hecht
A slide stopped in Round 3, Pick 34, with Sam Hecht worth more than the price. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick104
Rnd4
Deion Burks
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 4, Pick 4 is the definition of value, full stop. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick114
Rnd4
Nicholas Singleton
A reasonable price with a little left over, Nicholas Singleton in the Round 4 slot. It fills a real need, too.
Pick137
Rnd4
Harold Perkins Jr.
Fair-plus on Harold Perkins Jr., a quiet win that adds up over a draft. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick158
Rnd5
Bryce Boettcher
Bryce Boettcher at the 158th overall pick jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick159
Rnd5
Malik Benson
Malik Benson slid further than he should have, and No. 159 is lovely value for the wide receiver. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick217
Rnd7
Jadon Canady
They did well to land Jadon Canady in pick 217, just ahead of his grade. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
