Draft Grade — Cardinals

Larceny in pick No. 104 lands the Cardinals a B-, Pregnon and all. The board owed the Cardinals one, and it paid up: Emmanuel Pregnon, the No. 39 name on the board, sitting there at pick 104 like a gift left on the doorstep. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
The back end got a real overhaul.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick3
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the Round 1 slot they get a downhill hitter at safety. Need was not the driver here.
Pick34
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
The board had Sonny Styles higher than the 34th pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick65
Rnd3
Monroe Freeling
The board fumbled Monroe Freeling all the way to Round 3, Pick 1, and they scooped it up. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick104
Rnd4
Emmanuel Pregnon
They robbed the room for Emmanuel Pregnon here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick141
Rnd5
Treydan Stukes
Treydan Stukes at pick No. 141 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick181
Rnd6
Ted Hurst
Good price on Ted Hurst in No. 181, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick217
Rnd7
Taylen Green
Taylen Green in the 217th overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
