You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The 49ers did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.

The Frazier value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.

Hit on Nate Frazier and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.
