Draft Grade — 49ers
Overall B
ValueC NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
A masterclass at the trade table lands the 49ers a B.

You can hear the double-takes from here. The 49ers took Caleb Douglas at pick 127, roughly 40 spots before his name belonged. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. However the rest shakes out, Klare at that price is a win they earned.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick57 Rnd2 Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton in Round 2, Pick 25 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick58 Rnd2 Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis in No. 58 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick89 Rnd3 Max Klare
Value with a capital V on Max Klare in pick 89, a genuine coup. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick127 Rnd4 Caleb Douglas
Caleb Douglas at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick133 Rnd4 Jakobe Thomas
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jakobe Thomas. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick138 Rnd4 Charles Demmings
A premium they did not need to pay, Charles Demmings a notch or two before his time. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick139 Rnd4 Kaytron Allen
They liked Kaytron Allen enough to skip the value, taking him in the 139th overall pick. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
