The Commanders robbed the room for Slaughter. Final grade: B-.

Call it larceny. Jake Slaughter sat on the board until the 82nd overall pick, and the Commanders did not need to be asked twice. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. The trades cost them a sliver of value they did not need to spend. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.
