When a board-topper like Jake Slaughter slides to the 84th pick, you do not overthink it, and the Panthers did not. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.

Haynes has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 9 of 9 of the wish list covered.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Adding Kris Abrams-Draine by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
