Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueB NeedB- TradesA- FutureB-
The Rams checked most of the boxes and earned a B.

Nobody else had Dominic Zvada anywhere near slot 249. The Rams did, by 40 spots, and that gap is the whole story.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. The Davis pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at wide receiver, running back and other spots.

That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Safety is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick11 Rnd1 Jermod McCoy
In the 11th overall pick they get a lockdown presence outside. More want than need.
Pick43 Rnd2 Olaivavega Ioane
They paid sticker price for Olaivavega Ioane in pick 43, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick59 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
A tidy bit of business in Round 2, Pick 27, where Jake Slaughter graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick74 Rnd3 Rod Moore
A quiet steal in No. 74: Rod Moore for less than the market said. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94 Rnd3 Xavier Chaplin
They jumped the gun on Xavier Chaplin, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick112 Rnd4 Jack Endries
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 4 slot with a little surplus value in Jack Endries. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick129 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
A curious use of the 129th pick. Wide receiver, running back and other spots needed the pick; a cornerback in Tacario Davis did not.
Pick166 Rnd5 Kage Casey
Fair-plus on Kage Casey, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick203 Rnd6 Roderick Kearney
They reached into another round for Roderick Kearney, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick207 Rnd6 Tree Babalade
No edge and no loss on Tree Babalade in Round 6, Pick 26; it is a wash and a sensible one. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick230 Rnd7 Jordan Castell
Jordan Castell at pick No. 230 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick249 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
Dominic Zvada in No. 249 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
