You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Raiders did exactly that with Monroe Freeling in pick 67.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. They will answer for taking linebacker early while tight end went begging.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

Spend now, pay later; the math only works if this class delivers.

In short, a weekend the front office will want to forget in a hurry.
