FOXY KNOXY DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Seahawks: B. There is reaching, and then there is Gracen Halton at pick 96. The Seahawks jumped the board by 30 and dared it to prove them wrong. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In slot 32 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick64
Rnd2
A.J. Haulcy
A.J. Haulcy slid further than he should have, and pick No. 64 is lovely value for the safety. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick96
Rnd3
Gracen Halton
They talked themselves into Gracen Halton at Round 3, Pick 32, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick188
Rnd6
Keagen Trost
A clean, defensible pick in No. 188 with a little surplus value in Keagen Trost. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
