Dlynch732 DRAFTING FOR THEPanthers
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Panthers a B-. The war room fell hard for Trey Moore, and it showed at the 158th overall pick: 55 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
They will regret leaving offensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Little Jr. at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
R Mason Thomas
In pick No. 19 they get juice off the edge, reach and all. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick51
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
Fair-plus on Elijah Sarratt, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick83
Rnd3
Malik Muhammad
A straight-up fair deal on Malik Muhammad at slot 83, value and slot in agreement. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick119
Rnd4
Earl Little Jr.
Earl Little Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 119th overall pick is lovely value for the safety. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick153
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
Kyle Louis at No. 153 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick158
Rnd5
Trey Moore
Trey Moore in the Round 5 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
