Draft Grade — Lions
Overall B
ValueB- NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Lions a B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Josh Hoover had no business being available in the Round 4 slot, and the Lions did the only sane thing and turned in the card.

If Adeleye pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Ellis Robinson IV
In pick No. 17 they get an island corner at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick50 Rnd2 Jordan Seaton
They did well to land Jordan Seaton in the 50th pick, just ahead of his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick118 Rnd4 Josh Hoover
Taking Josh Hoover in No. 118 is close to grand larceny; a quarterback that good had no business lasting this long. It fills a real need, too.
Pick155 Rnd5 Mason Curtis
Mason Curtis in slot 155 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick186 Rnd6 Edwin Spillman
Nothing to complain about; Edwin Spillman went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick203 Rnd6 Elinneus Davis
Elinneus Davis at the Round 6 slot is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick212 Rnd6 Antonio Kite
The board had cheaper options than Antonio Kite at the 212th pick, and it noticed. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick222 Rnd7 Tunmise Adeleye
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Tunmise Adeleye well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
