Draft Grade — Steelers
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Steelers cashed the board's mistake on Becker: B-.

You could see the war room lean forward. Charlie Becker at slot 76 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. The Robinson IV pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The back end got a real overhaul.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Ellis Robinson IV
In the 21st pick they get a press-man option on the boundary, though they paid up to get him. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick53 Rnd2 Jayden Maiava
Jayden Maiava at No. 53 is money in the bank, a quarterback taken below his worth. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick76 Rnd3 Charlie Becker
They will replay Charlie Becker at pick No. 76 for years; that is how good the value is. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick85 Rnd3 Marcus Neal Jr.
The board had Marcus Neal Jr. higher than the 85th overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick99 Rnd3 Justin Evans-Jenkins
Fair-plus on Justin Evans-Jenkins, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
