There is reaching, and then there is Kamran James at pick 198. The Panthers jumped the board by 65 and dared it to prove them wrong.

The Slaughter value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. A whole weekend of picks and linebacker is somehow still a want.

Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the linebacker spot they never got to.
