Best value of the weekend goes to the Jaguars for Corleone: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Dontay Corleone slide, and the Jaguars were the ones holding the card at the 100th pick. Highway robbery. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Washington II has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick51
Rnd2
KC Concepcion
Value with a capital V on KC Concepcion in the 51st overall pick, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick82
Rnd3
Suntarine Perkins
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Suntarine Perkins. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick85
Rnd3
Caleb Tiernan
No drama and no debate, Caleb Tiernan went about where he belonged in slot 85. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick100
Rnd3
Dontay Corleone
Taking Dontay Corleone in pick 100 is close to grand larceny; an interior defensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick120
Rnd4
Chase Bisontis
Chase Bisontis at Round 4, Pick 20 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick159
Rnd5
Terrance Carter Jr.
Terrance Carter Jr. in No. 159 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick232
Rnd7
Makhi Hughes
Steal is underselling it; Makhi Hughes at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick243
Rnd7
Elliot Washington II
This one needs a full-page explanation: Elliot Washington II in the 243rd pick, miles early. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
