Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall D+
ValueF NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
A weekend the Eagles will want back. Grade: D+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Eagles did exactly that with Nyziah Hunter in the Round 1 slot. Hard to defend, and the D+ reflects that.

That is an edge rusher worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.

Pick Analysis
Pick21 Rnd1 Nyziah Hunter
In the 21st pick they get a difference-maker at receiver, a steep price for the projection. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54 Rnd2 Quinten Joyner
They talked themselves into Quinten Joyner at the 54th overall pick, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick69 Rnd3 Mitchell Melton
Mitchell Melton in the Round 3 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick98 Rnd3 Ethan Onianwa
This one needs a full-page explanation: Ethan Onianwa in pick 98, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick122 Rnd4 Adepoju Adebawore
A real head-scratcher, Adepoju Adebawore in slot 122 is miles ahead of his ranking. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick137 Rnd4 Mansoor Delane
Mansoor Delane in pick No. 137 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick149 Rnd5 LT Overton
They robbed the room for LT Overton here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick165 Rnd5 Dylan Braithwaite
A wild overpay on Dylan Braithwaite in No. 165, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick180 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
Nice patience on Jacob Rodriguez, who had no business lasting to the 180th pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick202 Rnd6 Zakee Wheatley
They barely believed it either: Zakee Wheatley still on the board at Round 6, Pick 22. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
