There is conviction, and then there is this. The Saints took DeSean Bishop a full 361 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

The whole projection now runs through Nico Iamaleava; hit there and everything else looks smarter. The cornerback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

The trade work was a quiet net positive.

If Nico Iamaleava and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
