Draft Grade — Rams
Overall D
ValueF NeedB TradesD FutureC-
The Rams have some explaining to do: D.

The Rams went off the board in a big way for Ethan Onianwa, 401 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

Getting Kilgore where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They gave back a little on the phones for the right to move.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Ethan Onianwa
In the Round 1 slot they get a long-term starter on the line, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Max Klare
A premium they did not need to pay, Max Klare a notch or two before his time. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick93 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board at pick No. 93. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick102 Rnd4 Will Lee III
They reached a country mile for Will Lee III at No. 102, and the board is aghast. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick207 Rnd6 Louis Moore
They robbed the room for Louis Moore here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick232 Rnd7 Thaddeus Dixon
A tidy bit of business in the 232nd overall pick, where Thaddeus Dixon graded well above the range. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jalon Kilgore
Somehow Jalon Kilgore was still sitting there in pick 251, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
