Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Eagles: B-.

You can draft well and still miss the point. The Eagles did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to running back, which was the need that mattered most. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They will need Green to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Dillon Thieneman
In the Round 1 slot they get a two-high chess piece. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick62 Rnd2 Elijah Sarratt
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Elijah Sarratt. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick68 Rnd3 DeAndre Moore Jr.
They took DeAndre Moore Jr. at par in pick 68, which is nothing to complain about. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick94 Rnd3 Harold Perkins Jr.
Harold Perkins Jr. in slot 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick99 Rnd3 Isaiah Nwokobia
Isaiah Nwokobia at Round 3, Pick 35 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick130 Rnd4 Taylen Green
Taylen Green at No. 130 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
Pick136 Rnd4 Monroe Mills
Monroe Mills in the 136th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick159 Rnd5 Braylan Shelby
A straight-up fair deal on Braylan Shelby at pick No. 159, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick169 Rnd5 Khalil Barnes
By-the-book stuff, Khalil Barnes at pick 169 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick178 Rnd6 De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at No. 178 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick191 Rnd6 Daevin Hobbs
No edge and no loss on Daevin Hobbs in the 191st overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick243 Rnd7 King Mack
They paid sticker price for King Mack in the Round 7 slot, and that is fine. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
