The Dolphins kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The Dolphins went off the board in a big way for Drew Allar, 48 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The McNeil-Warren value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

The back end got a real overhaul.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

In pick No. 11 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.

Ja'Kobi Lane at the Round 2 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Austin Barber. A need, and now a little less of one.

They reached a country mile for Drew Allar at Round 3, Pick 23, and the board is aghast. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at the 90th overall pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. It adds depth where they could use a little.
