The Dolphins drew a line under the quarterback search with Mendoza: D-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Roman Hemby; the Dolphins did not wait, grabbing him 93 spots ahead at Round 5, Pick 37. It grades a D-, and the process earned it.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Whatever Fernando Mendoza becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer.

For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Spending an early pick on safety with interior defensive lineman and linebacker open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

They banked enough surplus on McNeil-Warren to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and interior defensive lineman is still a hole.
