Draft Grade — Dolphins
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA FutureA+
Nobody dealt better than the Dolphins this weekend: B+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Dolphins took Caden Curry a full 36 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They banked enough surplus on McNeil-Warren to cover a lot of smaller sins. Spending an early pick on cornerback with quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Chris Brazzell II
In slot 29 they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick30 Rnd1 Chris Johnson
In Round 1, Pick 30 they get a sticky cover corner. More want than need.
Pick43 Rnd2 Max Iheanachor
They took Max Iheanachor at par in No. 43, which is nothing to complain about. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick75 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
They barely believed it either: Emmanuel McNeil-Warren still on the board at pick No. 75. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick87 Rnd3 Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt is a better player than pick 87 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick93 Rnd3 Davison Igbinosun
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Davison Igbinosun adds a cornerback and leaves quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots untouched.
Pick94 Rnd3 Caden Curry
Caden Curry at pick 94 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick130 Rnd4 Louis Moore
A want over a need in the 130th overall pick: Louis Moore adds a safety while quarterback, interior defensive lineman and other spots keeps waiting.
Pick151 Rnd5 CJ Daniels
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and CJ Daniels at Round 5, Pick 11 is the proof. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick227 Rnd7 Fa'alili Fa'amoe
Value said wait; Fa'alili Fa'amoe in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick238 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
They liked Trey Zuhn III enough to skip the value, taking him in the 238th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
