Lew should have been long gone. The Bengals pounced, and earned a D+. You could see the war room lean forward. Connor Lew at slot 226 is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did.
The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Bailey pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback and running back still on the board. That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, quarterback very much included.
