Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Ravens.

The Ravens spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Kaytron Allen, the No. 101 name on the board, in pick No. 252. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

If Johnson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.

Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 T.J. Parker
In the 14th overall pick they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick45 Rnd2 Caleb Lomu
The board had Caleb Lomu higher than slot 45, and the offensive lineman fell to them anyway. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick80 Rnd3 Dijon Johnson
They talked themselves into Dijon Johnson at No. 80, and the board did not agree. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick115 Rnd4 Jaquaize Pettaway
Value said wait; Jaquaize Pettaway in the Round 4 slot says they were not listening. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick153 Rnd5 LT Overton
A edge rusher of that caliber at pick 153 is the definition of value, full stop. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick161 Rnd5 Jaeden Roberts
Jaeden Roberts in the 161st pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick173 Rnd5 Niki Prongos
They will replay Niki Prongos at pick No. 173 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick174 Rnd5 Dasan McCullough
Dasan McCullough at slot 174 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. This was not a hole anyone had circled.
Pick249 Rnd7 J.C. Davis
Circle this one: J.C. Davis at the 249th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick252 Rnd7 Kaytron Allen
Taking Kaytron Allen in Round 7, Pick 36 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
