Flashes of a plan, unevenly run, for the Eagles: C.

The Eagles torched the value chart for Jaiden Ausberry, taking him 324 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. Some smart calls, some head-scratchers, and a C in the wash.

The Moore value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

They trusted the board more than the depth chart.

Hit on Makhi Hughes and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Makhi Hughes
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a bell-cow for the offense, a steep price for the projection.
Pick61 Rnd2 Max Klare
Max Klare in the Round 2 slot is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick69 Rnd3 Jaiden Ausberry
Value said wait; Jaiden Ausberry in pick No. 69 says they were not listening. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick98 Rnd3 Ian Strong
The board fumbled Ian Strong all the way to pick 98, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick129 Rnd4 R Mason Thomas
R Mason Thomas in the 129th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137 Rnd4 Isaiah Jatta
Isaiah Jatta at the 137th overall pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick150 Rnd5 Keith Abney II
A cornerback of that caliber at Round 5, Pick 10 is the definition of value, full stop. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick162 Rnd5 Keaten Wade
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Keaten Wade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180 Rnd5 Keon Sabb
Taking Keon Sabb in the 180th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick209 Rnd6 Rod Moore
Somehow Rod Moore was still sitting there in slot 209, and they pounced on premier safety value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
