You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Panthers did exactly that with Ty French in the 146th pick.

That Baron pick is the receipt they will wave around later. The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
