The phones sank the Saints this weekend: D+.

The Saints torched the value chart for Luke Kandra, taking him 117 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. The math is unkind, and the D+ follows.

However the rest shakes out, Rucker at that price is a win they earned. Overpaying at the table undid a lot of the good work elsewhere. With quarterback, running back and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on specialist is the choice that costs them.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and quarterback is still a hole.

In the Round 1 slot they get a premier pass rusher, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
