Larceny in pick No. 243 lands the Ravens a B-, Miller and all. The board owed the Ravens one, and it paid up: Cam Miller, the No. 208 name on the board, sitting there at the 243rd overall pick like a gift left on the doorstep.
They will need Milum to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick27
Rnd1
Wyatt Milum
In slot 27 they get a long-term starter on the line, though the board says they badly overpaid. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59
Rnd2
Bradyn Swinson
Bradyn Swinson at pick 59 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick91
Rnd3
Isaiah Bond
A slide stopped in the 91st overall pick, with Isaiah Bond worth more than the price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick129
Rnd4
Jacob Parrish
A reasonable price with a little left over, Jacob Parrish in the Round 4 slot. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick136
Rnd4
Jordan James
Jordan James slid further than he should have, and Round 4, Pick 34 is lovely value for the running back. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176
Rnd5
Emery Jones Jr.
Taking Emery Jones Jr. in the 176th pick is close to grand larceny; an offensive lineman that good had no business lasting this long. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick183
Rnd6
Jake Briningstool
A tidy bit of business in pick No. 183, where Jake Briningstool graded well above the range. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick203
Rnd6
Connor Colby
Connor Colby in No. 203 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick210
Rnd6
Jarquez Hunter
You do not let a running back like Jarquez Hunter reach the 210th pick and blink. They did not. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick212
Rnd6
CJ West
CJ West in Round 6, Pick 36 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick243
Rnd7
Cam Miller
A quarterback of that caliber at pick 243 is the definition of value, full stop. The roster fit checks out.
