Draft Grade — Colts
Overall
C+

FutureB-
Some hits, some head-scratchers, and a C+ for the Colts. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Jake Smith at Round 4, Pick 15 is 272 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
That Moore pick is the receipt they will wave around later. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want.
Not a disaster, not a triumph, just a middling class.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Shavon Revel Jr.
In No. 14 they get a lockdown presence outside, though they paid up to get him. More want than need.
Pick45
Rnd2
Jonah Savaiinaea
Jonah Savaiinaea in pick 45 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick80
Rnd3
Tyler Warren
Taking Tyler Warren in slot 80 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick117
Rnd4
Jake Smith
Jake Smith at the Round 4 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick151
Rnd5
Bhayshul Tuten
By-the-book stuff, Bhayshul Tuten at pick No. 151 squarely in line with his ranking. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick189
Rnd6
Deshawn Pace
They reached a country mile for Deshawn Pace at the 189th pick, and the board is aghast. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick232
Rnd7
Malachi Moore
Malachi Moore in the Round 7 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
