Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall
B-

FutureB-
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Cardinals. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cardinals did exactly that with Aeneas Peebles in No. 47. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
Lacy falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
Armand Membou
In pick 16 they get protection for the quarterback, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick47
Rnd2
Aeneas Peebles
A big swing on Aeneas Peebles at the Round 2 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick78
Rnd3
Carson Schwesinger
They liked Carson Schwesinger enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 78. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick114
Rnd4
Will Howard
Will Howard at No. 114 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick153
Rnd5
Kyren Lacy
Kyren Lacy in the 153rd pick is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
