Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEBroncos

Draft Grade — Broncos

The Broncos cashed the board's mistake on Arnold: B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jackson Arnold got past him. The Broncos do not have to explain a thing at the Round 7 slot.
For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain. They are betting Luckie proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In the Round 1 slot they get a load in the middle at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick64
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
No drama and no debate, Germie Bernard went about where he belonged in Round 2, Pick 32. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick96
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Eli Stowers at pick No. 96. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick104
Rnd4
C.J. Fite
They paid sticker price for C.J. Fite in pick 104, and that is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick132
Rnd4
Eugene Wilson III
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Eugene Wilson III. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick172
Rnd5
Connor Tollison
Connor Tollison in the 172nd pick is fair value, right on his grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jackson Arnold
Jackson Arnold at slot 246 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick250
Rnd7
Ricardo Hallman
No edge and no loss on Ricardo Hallman in No. 250; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick251
Rnd7
Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie in pick No. 251 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick256
Rnd7
Robert Spears-Jennings
They let Robert Spears-Jennings come to them and pounced at the Round 7 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
