The board owed the Rams one, and it paid up: Jake Slaughter, the No. 38 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 2 slot like a gift left on the doorstep.

Spending an early pick on cornerback with running back, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Wilson to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
