Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Bengals: B-.

You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Bengals spent pick 110 on Caden Curry while tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots sat unaddressed.

The Banks steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 10th pick they get the heartbeat of the defense. A real need, handled.
Pick41 Rnd2 Caleb Banks
Value with a capital V on Caleb Banks in the Round 2 slot, a genuine coup. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick72 Rnd3 Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
Emmanuel McNeil-Warren at No. 72 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick110 Rnd4 Caden Curry
A curious use of the 110th pick. Tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots needed the pick; an edge rusher in Caden Curry did not.
Pick187 Rnd6 Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon at pick No. 187 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick197 Rnd6 DJ Harvey
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and DJ Harvey at the 197th overall pick is the proof. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick226 Rnd7 Riley Mahlman
By-the-book stuff, Riley Mahlman at Round 7, Pick 10 squarely in line with his ranking. It fills a real need, too.
