The Saints drew a line under the quarterback search with Simpson: B.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Saints spent their marquee pick on Ty Simpson, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

Edge rusher is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.

DJ McKinney in pick 137 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

They jumped the gun on DeMonte Capehart, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
