Draft Grade — Titans
Overall C+
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureA
The Titans lost the trade table, and the C+ tells the story.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Titans did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. It nets out a thoroughly average C+.

For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Landing Claiborne that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.

Hit on Peter Woods and the swing picks, and this ages a lot better than it grades today.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Peter Woods
In the Round 1 slot they get juice off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Dani Dennis-Sutton
Dani Dennis-Sutton at the 33rd pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick66 Rnd3 Colton Hood
No drama and no debate, Colton Hood went about where he belonged in the 66th overall pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick101 Rnd4 Deion Burks
A straight-up fair deal on Deion Burks at Round 4, Pick 1, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick143 Rnd5 Demond Claiborne
They read the board right and Demond Claiborne was the payoff at slot 143. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick180 Rnd6 Xavier Nwankpa
They paid sticker price for Xavier Nwankpa in No. 180, and that is fine. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick216 Rnd7 Jalon Daniels
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jalon Daniels. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick236 Rnd7 De'Zhaun Stribling
De'Zhaun Stribling at pick No. 236 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
