Draft Grade — Panthers
Overall

The steal of the weekend belongs to the Panthers and Weeks: B-. Somebody in No. 116 was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Panthers sat still while Whit Weeks, the No. 98 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
They punted on offensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Thomas has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick Analysis
Pick16
Rnd1
R Mason Thomas
In pick 16 they get a bendy edge with upside, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick48
Rnd2
Daylen Everette
They paid sticker price for Daylen Everette in slot 48, and that is fine. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick80
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
They paid up for Malachi Fields at No. 80 when waiting would have done the job. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick116
Rnd4
Whit Weeks
Whit Weeks at the 116th pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
