Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Rice at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They will need Smith-Wade to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
