FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Falcons for Banks: B. The board owed the Falcons one, and it paid up: Caleb Banks, the No. 29 name on the board, sitting there at Round 2, Pick 16 like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B.
For all the activity, interior defensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. Zuhn III has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The roster is better shaped than it was, with offensive lineman chief among the fixes.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick48
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks in the Round 2 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick88
Rnd3
Eric Singleton Jr.
A slide stopped in the 88th pick, with Eric Singleton Jr. worth more than the price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick114
Rnd4
D'Angelo Ponds
They took D'Angelo Ponds at par in pick 114, which is nothing to complain about. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick162
Rnd5
Iapani Laloulu
A straight-up fair deal on Iapani Laloulu at slot 162, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick197
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Sawyer Robertson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick231
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in No. 231 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
