Of all the ways to open, the Vikings chose the head-scratcher, spending the 49th overall pick on Sonny Styles with quarterback, edge rusher and other spots still wide open. Solid and sensible more than spectacular: a B-.

The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Wheatley falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
