Draft Profile: Bio
Anderson joined Georgia as a consensus five-star prospect, but through the first two seasons of his collegiate career, Anderson didn't perform as expected

His fortune changed in 2020 with a series of powerful performances, and an ability to create consistent pressure despite limited snaps on Georgia's defense.
In 2021 Anderson led the team with five sacks through the seven games and also had 5.5 tackles for loss, 32 total tackles, one pass breakup and 14 quarterback hurries.
However his draft status is now up in the air after he was suspended by the team following a rape accusation dating back to 2020.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Ferocious against the run and great as a pass rusher - is extremely versatile. Despite his build, he holds up well in traffic and makes a lot of plays by engaging a block, shedding, and pursuing.
  • Keeps feet moving after initial contact. Jumps inside as a counter to typical rush, but needs to show a larger variety of moves.
  • Shows toughness to get under the pads of tackles to bull them, club them upfield to get the inside lane, or fight through blocks for secondary rush when the passer steps up.
  • Tougher between the tackles than many expect. Fluid and quick drop into zone - covers enough ground to be Tampa-2 "MIKE" and knows where the markers are.
  • Good closing speed with long arms to drag down quarterbacks and running backs.
  • Freakish athlete. Shows a natural feel for pass rushing. Very good lateral agility to shake pass blockers.
  • Explosive nature is evident on tape, as Anderson consistently wins with burst and speed around the edge, creating pressures on 23 of his 86 pass rushes a year ago.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Lacks pop and strength to anchor, though. Most effective when uncovered inside and chasing stretch plays to the sideline.
  • Can struggle if bigger backs run right at him.
  • Locates the ball but takes circuitous routes to go get to it. Should use power and long arms to take on and disengage from blocks. Not always efficient with his angles.
Scouting Report: Summary
At 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, Anderson doesn't fit the standard cookie-cutter NFL edge defender. However, he has an athletic profile that's off the scale. Sources in the Georgia program have said that Anderson could run under a 4.4 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and is expected to jump over 40 inches in the vertical.

Anderson was having a good but not great season when he was suspended - and this may have hurt his stock even before his arrest.
We had Anderson graded as a late first round prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft but his stock now is entirely dependent on his off the field issues.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
